2010 Lotus Evora starts at $73,200

Now that the new Lotus Evora has been successfully launched in Europe, it's time to start delivering the new model to U.S. Lotus dealers. Production of U.S.-spec cars will be starting shortly so Lotus has finally defined a price point for the car beginning at $73,200. For that price you get the 276-hp Toyota-sourced 3.5-liter V6 and a 6-speed gearbox.

Unlike the minimalist Elise and Exige, the Evora is fully trimmed out in a fashion someone might expect of a $73,200 car, including hand-stitched leather from Muirhead and aluminum trim that hints at the structure under the plastic skin. The tiller is adjustable for reach and rake, which, along with the larger size of the car, should make getting in and out much easier than in the Exige. Final EPA numbers haven't been published yet, but the Evora is expected to top 30 mpg on the highway while the 0-60 time will be just 4.9 seconds.

Volkswagen Citi Golf Mk1 Limited Edition

Volkswagen has ended production of the Golf Mk I model in South Africa and announced that a limited edition of 1,000 Citi Mk1's (based on the Golf I) will be made as a commemorative series.

The Golf I was introduced in South Africa in 1978. In 1984 the Citi model, based on the Golf Mk I, went into production at VW's plant in Uitenhage as an entry-level vehicle slotted beneath the subsequent generations of the ever-growing Golf model. 377,484 Citi's have been produced in South Africa over the last 25 years.

The limited edition Citi Mk1 will be fitted with a 1.6 liter petrol/gasoline engine with 74kW/100 hp. It will come in only two colors, black and shadow blue metallic. Each unit will carry its series number on the dashboard and on the Mk1 logo on the exterior. The Citi Mk1 will sell for R113,500 (10,280 euros).

It has been strongly rumored that the Citi will be replaced by the 2009 VW Gol - a model Volkswagen produces in Brazil.

2010 Mitsubishi shows off EVOlved 2010 Outlander GT

The Mitsubishi Outlander GT prototype made its debut in New York earlier this year, a sign that the Lancer Evolution's front end would be spreading to other models in the lineup. Along with the new look, the GT concept also received sportier options like 19-inch OZ Racing wheels, larger Brembo brakes, a lightweight aluminum roof and a slight bump in horsepower.

While we don't yet know exactly what features of the concept car will make it to the production version, we do know what it will look like. In addition to the our live photos we snapped last month at our favorite SoCal car meet, Mitsubishi has just released dozens of new photos of its new sportier-looking SUV. Bugatti's 8.0 liter 16-cylinder Galibier Concept New Photos and Videos

List Auto has previously reported on rumors that Bugatti was taking the 16C Galibier to production. But it seems Bugatti is still not yet ready to make the official announcement on that one.

This is going to be one serious, "torpedo-like" sedan. The 16C Galibier Concept is a four-door saloon - or sedan, or four-door coupe, depending on which nomenclature one prefers for such models. Given that the Galibier will cost somewhere around £900,000 or €984,900 (US$1.4 million), it probably calls for a new name all for itself.

The Galibier will feature Bugatti's 8.0 liter 16-cylinder engine also employed in the Veyron, although the power output is said to be dialed down from the Veyron's 747kW (1001hp) and 1250Nm of torque. Down to what Bugatti still doesn't say in this press release.

What they do mention is how the Galibier is fitted with a tourbilliion clock from Swiss watchmaker Parmigiani that can be removed from the dash and worn as a wristwatch due to a specially designed strap.

Lumma Design CLR 730 RS BMW M5 with 730 HP

With its latest creation, the CLR 730 RS, it seems that Lumma Design is making a play for the title of Europe's most garish tuner. However, this two-tone widebody BMW M5 is actually subtle compared to previous Lumma Design models, and we think the title still firmly remains with Mansory.

So what's special about the CLR 730 RS? For starters, 730 horsepower. The 50% increase in chutzpah comes from a set of twin-superchargers courtesy of G-Power, and Lumma Design claims an impressive top speed of 228 mph. Additional performance upgrades come in the form of a sport suspension, six-piston front and four-piston rear brakes, and an upgraded exhaust system.

The candy cane interior of the CLR 730 RS is even more over-the-top than the outside, with a combination of carbon fiber, leather, and suede. It's not really our style, but we would probably be more accepting of it in a more subtle color.
