Heico Sportiv Takes on the Volvo's new XC60 Crossover

Dedicated Volvo tuner Heico Sportiv has turned its attention on the new XC60 with the unveiling of new upgrades for the compact crossover. The German-based firm's exterior package is restrained to the body colored bumpers and the addition of a front lip spoiler and a rear skirt that incorporates a new set of tailpipes. Also available for the XC60 are custom alloy wheels in different styles and sizes and a sport suspension kit that that brings the crossover 30mm closer to the ground.

In the engine compartment, Heico Spotiv has developed a new ECU for both diesel and petrol variants of the XC60. In the case of Volvo's 2.4-liter inline 5-cylinder turbo diesel engines, the reprogrammed ECU helps boost output of both the 163HP 2.4D and 185HP D5 units to 210HP while the 285HP T6 turbocharged gasoline engine gains an extra 30HP for a total of 315HP.

Heico hops up the new 2007 Volvo XC90

Ah, the trials of being a tuner, especially one that creates its own line of body enhancements. When Volvo gave the XC90 a face-lift for 2007, Heico Sportiv had to respond to the updated Swedish SUV with a new kit in which to wrap it. The biggest improvement is the use of a material called PU-RIM plastic. This material is touted as 'brakeproof', which should be translated breakproof to us. Regardless, the front and rear enhancements are three-piece designs and give the XC90 a more butch appearance. The front skirt includes cut outs for fog lights, which can be upgraded to cornering lamps. There is even an optional dual exit exhaust that can be added to complement the rear apron.

Heico can also outfit your XC90 (or any other late model Volvo) with performance parts to go with that body kit, including ECU upgrades, suspension packages, and brakes kits. If you want, you can also get the aluminum door pins or other interior goodies so that your investment in Heico parts doesn't go unappreciated inside the cabin.

Volvo XC60 SUV gets the Heico Sportiv Treatment

Volvo tuning specialist Heico Sportive has released new details and photos on its performance upgrades for the new XC60. Beginning with the cosmetic enhancements, there's a subtle bodykit made of polyurethane-plastic (PUR) that consists of side skirts, front bumper spoiler and rear skirt that houses the new four pipe exhaust system. Furthermore, customers can choose from a variety of alloy wheels that are available in sizes 18'', 19'' and 20''.

For the interior, Heico provides a full leather treatment. The complete set includes door panel inlays, front and rear seat covers, and gear shift knob and bag. Buyers can choose from nine different colors of leather while further leather types or other surfaces are available upon request.

Under the hood, thanks to a newly developed ECU for the XC60's diesel and petrol engines, the 2.4-liter inline 5-cylinder turbo diesels with 163HP and 185HP can both develop 210HP while the 285HP T6 turbocharged gasoline engine gains an extra 30HP for a total output of 315HP.

Finally, Heico Sportiv offers a new set sport springs that are fitted in combination with the series shock-absorbers and lower the vehicle's road height by approximately 30 mm.

2008 Volvo V70 & XC70 by Heico Sportiv

Little after the market introduction of the all-new V70 and XC70 models, Volvo tuning specialist “Heico Sportiv” came out with a complete program for the two Swedish estates. Apart from the exterior and interior upgrades that include a subtle bodykit, bi-color leather seats and aluminum pedals, Heico offers an engine kit for the V70 / XC70 2.4D and D5 models which increases output in both cases to 210 Hp (from 163 and 185 Hp respectively). For the 2.4D, D5, 2.5T, 3.2 and 3.2 AWD models Heico offers a twin-outlet exhaust system while specifically for the V70 T6 there’s a four pipe exhaust system. As for the chassis, Heico’s program includes suspension and brake upgrades that can be combined with a wide variety of 18, 19 or 20-inch alloy wheels. -More pics after the jump

Heico Sportiv to participate in the 24h Nurburgring Race with bio-ethanol powered Volvo S40

Alternative-fuel powered vehicles are showing up everywhere these days so it doesn’t strike us as a surprise that Volvo specialist, Heico Sportiv announced that it’ll participate in this year’s 24h Nurbugring Race (9-10 June 2007) with a HEICO HS4 ODIN powered by 2.5-litre turbo engine running on E85 bio ethanol. The “24h Nurburgring” is a touring car endurance racing event that’s inspired by the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Spa 24 Hours.

Weiterstadt, Germany - Motorsport and ecology are not in disagreement with each other. HEICO SPORTIV will prove this as the first racing team running a 2.5 litre turbo engine with E85 bio ethanol.

HEICO SPORTIV will be racing the class winner of the 24h race 2006, the HEICO HS4 ODIN. HEICO SPORTIV PR and Motorsport representative Patrick Brenndφrfer explains: "The drastic reduction of CO2-output is one of the main concerns of the automobile industry for the future. As a tuner and racing team we can also make a difference. By using innovative technologies, motorsport and ecology don't have to be a disagreement."

Bio ethanol E85 is a renewable resource. Ethanol is alcohol-based and is made from starch, sugar and plant cellulose such as corn, sugar beet and cereals. E85 stands for a mixture of 85% ethanol and 15% normal gasoline. Using this fuel the CO2 output is almost neutral, because the only carbon dioxide emitted into the atmosphere is that used in developing the plant materials. This is how bio ethanol can be a step to reduce CO2 emissions and slow the greenhouse effect.

The 24h race of the Nurburgring on the 9th through the 10th of June, 2007 sets perfect conditions for future technology teams like HEICO SPORTIV. There had been announced a specific class for alternative fuels. Race manager of the 24h race, Mr Hans Schnock: "Back in the 70's the ADAC Nordrhein announced a diesel class. In the 90's there were the first factory racing teams and the first victory in 1998. By now diesel-cars are completely integrated and make up a big part of the starting grid. We promise the same effect with the new alternative fuel class. Today we have Hybrid powered cars as well as race cars with natural gas, liquid gas, and bio ethanol. Those firms that want to test these technologies have the perfect opportunity at the biggest race on the longest and toughest racetrack in the world."

Project "E85 bio ethanol" isn't reduced to fuel alone. Various modifications to engine, software, fuel system and tank were necessary to meet the requirement of E85 bio ethanol.

Next to the environment issue the endurance race on the Nurburgring has more potential for technical development. The Japanese tire maker TOYO TIRES is expanding its racing activities and is set to deliver exclusively to HEICO SPORTIV 18" prototype-slicks. "The Nurburgring Nordschleife gives TOYO TIRES all possibilities that can be imagined by our tire engineers. For our development this kind of research is very important," said marketing manager Rόdiger Hφlzel. Still on board: Castrol, Eibach, Sebring, and the Volvo Auto Bank.

Located in Weiterstadt/Hessen, HEICO SPORTIV began racing in 1995 at the toughest endurance race for touring cars, the 24h race at the Nόrburgring. After the legendary 850 T5 and various S40s the HEICO HS4 ODIN debuted in 2006. The highlight of a very successful session was the class victory at the 24h race. Finishing the 3.000 kilometer hunt through the green hell is the first goal. It is to prove that bio ethanol can last for the high requirements at the toughest long distance race in the world.

Drivers will once again be the experienced HEICO employees Patrick Brenndφrfer, Frank Eickholt and Martin Mόller.
