CLS 350
Outstanding smoothness and power delivery combined with modest fuel consumption and exhaust emissions. That is the profile of the 6-cylinder V-engines in the CLS.
The CLS 350 revs sporty: with an output of 215 kW (292 hp) and torque of 365 Nm, it accelerates in 6.7 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h. The CLS 350 also makes for big excitement with its economy as it injects the fuel at high pressure directly into the combustion chamber using special piezo injectors.
Transmissions
7G-TRONIC 7-speed automatic transmission
In the CLS, the innovative 7G-TRONIC automatic transmission comes as standard to take over the shifting. Its seven forward gears and the correspondingly smaller steps from gear to gear ensure extremely smooth gear changes with no noticeable interruption in tractive power. The 7G-TRONIC also helps reduce fuel consumption and emission values.
When changing down through the gears, 7G-TRONIC is able to skip several gears at a time, resulting in faster gear changes. This also improves the vehicle's braking effect.
Agility
The elegant lines of the CLS are not just a matter of good looks. Because by achieving a drag coefficient of 0.30, our designers have built a car which is also exceptionally aerodynamic.
A really dynamic sense of driving as well as excellent handling characteristics are ensured by the optional AIRMATIC DC semi-active air suspension system, speed-sensitive parameter steering (fitted as standard), and sophisticated driving dynamics systems, including ABS anti-lock braking, ASR acceleration skid control, Brake Assist BAS, the ADAPTIVE BRAKE system with HOLD function and the Electronic Stability Program ESP®.
